Edit- my bad- this is regarding travel trailers, not 5th wheels...the 26 to 28 ish floor plans tend to have a big, driver-side slide...and then the "hallways" are driver or center or passenger side. I THOUGHT the center ones might be OK, but today- I saw one layout where the gap would only work for kiddies.
THAT is the issue- we often pull off and have lunch/dinner/or even grab a coke and hit the bathroom while gassing up- want the camper largely workable with the slide in. And I appreciate a couple replies up regarding the center hallway/pass-through bathroom...Those are the floor plans that scare me. Driver side vs passenger side hallways seem pretty cut and dry...blocked vs. open.

***Think of it like this. You are travelling and decide to stop at a tourist area. The weather is not quite what you expect. Do you want to put out the slide just to grab a jacket? Or want to pull over somewhere and get a drink. Same thing, do you want to have to put out the slide just so you can get a can of drink out of the fridge?***
