Do those driving glasses really turn "night into day"

I have nearly quit driving at night because it's difficult for me to see. I keep reading about these driving glasses that they say they help. Have you had any experience with them and are they worth the price?

  • They work. I also take hearing pills for ingrown toenails.
  • I wear yellow lens shooting glasses when I shoot and I can tell the difference in clarity from my naked eye.
  • A google search provides this result. "Yellow 'Night Driving' lenses have been shown to provide no benefit in seeing ability at night. They are even hazardous, because they give the driver a feeling of seeing better, which no one has yet been able to explain. Studies have shown that they actually impair visual performance and ****** glare recovery. Many promoters have made unfounded claims for the ability of amber to improve night vision. They have employed mass solicitation, usually by mail. The Federal Trade Commission has correctly ruled that such practices are illegal since the lenses do not perform as claimed." - Forensic Aspects of Vision and Highway Safety", Merrill J. • Talk to you Opthamoligist. May help you, depends on your eyes.
  • I had the same issue driving at night (and being old). Cured that with a pair of LED headlamp replacement bulbs. I can see very well now. The light is white from the headlamps and really makes the lines on the road and signage pop.
