No true budget. I basically go off that trip that is planned. A shorter fast long weekend trip, shorter drive etc., well we know we can hold to a lower cost on those quickies. Longer trips like the 15 or so days we are going to San Antonio, I know the Cg fixed cost, after that, whatever hits the wallet, hits the wallet. We plan to spend 'whatever' amnt is required for us to have a blast on this trip and we plan the 'keep costs very low' trips like our going to COEs and more where you can get on a water front lake for like 0 money practically, eat burgers/hot dogs and chicken legs on the grill and just chill and swim and kayak and spend no money eating out or driving to destinations etc. We throw money at trips that require it for sight seeing and longer journeys and we conserve our pennies on some trips where it is not about destination, just about having fun days on a shoestring.
one thing tho, prices sure are increasing out there :( even my 'almost free' type quickie shorter trips are getting more expensive LOL ugh
