We don't budget when using the camper. We use it as a rolling hotel while traveling for a purpose. We have a funeral to attend this weekend for example, so we will have the FW in tow the 250 miles for this. Park it at a city park and call it home for the weekend. Does it cost more than staying in a crappy small town motel? Yep! Would we stay at this crappy small town motel? Nope!
Nor do we budget per se for a vacation. We add up what it will cost and then ask ourselves is it worth it. Being a working stiff I'm always short on time rather than finances.
