My first RV was an 8 ft camper on a 3/4 ton truck. We put a lot of miles on that travelling all over Arizona and had a great time. Easy to drive, park anywhere and cheap to own.
Next was a 29ft. 5th wheel with no slides. More space and comfort but not as easy to haul around. Then it was a 30ft travel trailer which I took as part payment for a job I did. Hated it because of the length and lack of storage. Sold it before I even used it.
I'm now looking for a newer TC with a slide. I want to be able to park in places that I don't have to pay big fees just to sleep somewhere. We are more travellers that sitters and don't plan to spend weeks in any one place. For us it's all about being able to get off the beaten path and having a TC and 4X4 makes that possible. Spending time outdoors is important and if we find the TC a little uncomfortable, I'll do like many others and change the settee to a recliner love seat.
The reason there are so many different RV styles is there are a lot of different ideas about RV'ing and what it means to you.
