Yes, and I'm already smaller than the "small" rig you got for travel. I'm sized for family travel, would rather be down to a size and equipment level of the old VW camper, maybe. Or a very small TT. Camper conversion on minivan, as now popular in Europe, also comes to mind, our minivans just aren't as capable for their size.
But what I got then fit my needs then. A lot of people downsize when their needs change. Quite a few who can afford it have multiple RVs in sizes for different uses.
But I don't think in going from 40 foot whatever, your old fiver or the DP, to 30 foot whater, the Escapade or a 3-slide TT, that you are downsizing enough to make a difference in how you might use it. You end up losing space with no real decrease in rig size, or not enough at least to make it easier to use and fit a wider range of spaces.
