I travel solo (DW says her camping days are over), and I like a quiet campground... the more deserted, the better. I've hit a few that were totally empty or only 1-2 other rigs, and that was great. Camping in a full CG feels like I left the city only to stay in a new city of RVs and tents. As for socializing, usually 5-10 minutes is enough for one day. It's a strange situation... I spend my work days meeting and greeting customers and making smalltalk, but most other times I just want to be more or less by myself.
However, when I tried boondocking in some out-of-the way place, all alone with no sign of other humanity, it felt really spooky. I was uncomfortable.
