Do You REALLY Need To Run your Genny?

Last summer we were in a CA state park with no hook-ups and a group pulled in next to us and set up their three tents and stuff on the table and one of the wives is standing there with a microwave cord in her hand asking where the power cord is. They were three 30 something couples camping together and they had their microwaves,electric cooktop,a large halogen worklite on the table aalong with one of those little 1-2 cf fridges.They also had those 12v tents with the led lites and heaters. Couldn't say anything as wewere sitting there in our 40' MH. One of the guys actually came over to our rig with a extension cord and asked if they could plug into our outside outlet. I said Nawwww,I'm sorry but I didn't think that would work too well as my gennie was being difficult. The three guys took off and about an hour later,they came back with a Honda 1000 and set it up and ran it till after midnight while they sat up and played cards and drank. Next day the camp host came around and mentioned to them that quiet hours were from 9PM till & AM and several of their neighbors,not me,had complained.Same thing happened that nite and VERY early the next morning,the ranger came around and told them they would have to leave.
