We camped for years on the beaches at Montauk and Shinnecock with dual batteries and NO generator. I found I could easily go 4 days on just batteries. I have a small 150W inverter that I use for cell phone charging and TV watching. TV is a 24" LCD that only uses 50W of power. Changed the lightbulbs in the TT to LEDs, what a difference in both heat and power savings. Used a stove top coffee pot.
Now have a 2000w Honda for the hairdryer and DW is happier! Never needed a/c on the beach there was always a breeze.
Spend some time reading over at the Tech Issues section. 12V power management is like a religion...got tons of great info over the years from the guys that post there. Solar is my next gig if I ever get the $$ for the right equipment.
