Maybe I'm just hard-headed, but I don't see the problem with generators.
If I go to a campground where generators are allowed from 9AM until 11PM, I'm going to assume that I'll hear generators during those hours.
If I want to run my generator during those hours, I will. And I don't feel that it's necessary to "warn" any neighbors. The campground rules already warned them.
If I wanted a campground without generators, I'd go somewhere that didn't allow them.
My particular camping scenarios involve both cases. Sometimes I camp with a generator where they are allowed, and sometimes I want to camp where they are not allowed. I read the rules, and know exactly what to expect. Easy-Peasy.
