Things have changed over the years and with the introduction of the cell phone and toads RV'ing has become a much safer hobby.
IMHO anyone can RV across the US and even go off the grid and be safe.
I carry 2 cell phones with 2 different carriers in the RV and drag a toad.
IMHO the toad is not just a convenience to use to go shopping after parked in a CG, I consider it a safety net for me.
Nothing sweeter than breaking down with the RV and calling a tow truck, unhook the toad, load the dogs in it and tossing the keys to the tow truck driver and saying 'call me when it's fixed'!
As opposed to having a melt down on the side of the road regarding what do I do with the dogs, how do I get to a motel, how do I get to the repair shop etc etc :W
