does a dehumidifier help ac

We are going to Ft Wilderness the first week of September so I am sure its going to be hot as blazes. Our trailer is pretty long and only has one 15k btu AC unit. Does anyone think if I took our dehumidifier from home it would help the AC cool better by removing the moisture? Im hoping we get a shady spot to help but am just looking for any ideas that will help. We will probably be gone during the hottest hours of the day but I dont want to come back after a day in the heat to sit in a sauna. I was thinking it might help with the moisture levels due to pop up thunderstorms

    On low fan speed the ac tends to dehumidify better then cool, high speed tends to dehumidify less, and cool more.

    I have been in situations where it seemed the air conditioner cooled the air but left me feeling clammy. This can happen if conditions do not have the compresser running long enough to dehumidify. In such a situation, the dehumidifer might help.

    If you turn the air on and let things cool, and then keep it on so that the interior doesn't get warmer and more humid and the AC has to cool everything down again, I would think you would be okay. We are currently parked east/west. Morning sun on the windshield, passenger side main awning shady almost all day to help the frig, and awning over bedroom slide to keep it cooler. Slide awning on large slide on drivers side keeps most of that side shaded throughout the day. Seems to be working pretty well.

    Dehumidifiers are sort of intended for cool damp basements where spitting out the heat doesn't hurt much of anything.

    The idea of the Honeywell ac is good but by looking at the specs it includes a 3 1/2 ft exhust hose. I see nothing about an inlet hose. So the air you exhust is already cooled? They make the same thing with a inlet and exhust hose (2 hoses) so you you use outdoor air to cool the compressor and save the cool you already got. Smart move to use something like that and plug it in at the pedesal

    I would expect the unit is designed to maintain a minimum 40 degree spread on a sunny day. The dealer/mfg may be able to confirm

    Yes its ducted. It may very well be fine. We dont camp in the summer ever because we hate the heat, only spring, fall, and some winter so I havent ever really tried out the AC in much heat. I just didnt want to be miserable once we got down there and then not have something we could have brought with us

    Skip the Dehumidifier. As mentioned it will generate a ton of heat.

    I presume the AC is ducted?
