I find it interesting that there is so much objection to the term "hot water heater" but seemingly none to "hot air furnace."
If you pay a visit to the local hardware store, you'll find water heaters. The box says 'water heater', not hot water heater. I kinda doubt the furnace box also would say 'hot air furnace.'
'Hot water heater' is a combination of water heater and hot water tank.
And now back to the myriad opinions on how often to drain this beast.
