I have the one Griot's garage sells, likely the same mfg, slightly different with a different lable on it. Had it for many years. In combination with the correct pads and correct polishing compound it does an outstanding job of polishing car paint and applying wax. you can end up with a black paint job with no swirl marks even under indirect light. Also use it to apply paste wax to my trailer, does a very good job of that also.
My experience and opinion is that it is great for applying compound or wax. IMHO and my experience, it is much faster and easier to remove compound or wax with a good set of towels. Use the appropriate wax or compound and it doesn't take any elbow grease to remove it. And think, how big is the pad?? How big is a bathtowel??? Which one will hold more powdered residue!!
