- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIRule of thumb........1 standard trailer battery/1 night of furnace use
Then you have to recharge battery.
So next day of travel will not recharge trailer battery sufficiently after a night of furnace use UNLESS you have a VERY LONG drive.
Charge line from tow vehicle to trailer is a long small wire and limited in recharging capabilities.
Hopefully your next stop is with AC power so trailer converter/charger can be used. - Need 12v power and propane. It will work in your driveway also for a test. Unplug and give it a go.

Can we run our furnaces off of DC Power?
Nobody has address this yet, but the question sounds like you want to know if the furnace can run on DC power "only". Of course, the answer is no.

Yeap, and in the morning a grp29 battery is toast. BTDT
If you don't have at least a 200AH house bank, just bundle up and hit the thermostat in the morning.
Oh Yeah, Have the propane FULL.
Matt - BobboExplorer IIWe found out in 2011 while in Yellowstone National Park in November, that we had to have the heat turned down to 50 at night, or the 2 batteries would be dead by 2am. We learned to snuggle under the comforter, and turn the heat back up in the AM.

- BigSur2ExplorerThanks guys. Yeah I was wondering about battery # as well b/c I only have 1 right now. Same with my buddy. I've got a portable propane that's safe for indoor use that I've used in the past. May supplement with that if it happens to be a cold night.
- rhagfoExplorer IIIBase on your location will not run a lot should be good with a single decent battery. Yes, heavy draw, but unless really cold should not be an issue.
- rk911Exploreryup. be sure your battery(ies) are fully charged and in good condition.
