Does This RV Layout Exist?

Went to look at RVs this week.

We are currently in an Arctic Fox truck camper and it's feeling a little small for 2 people and a pet full time.

Looking B+ and C class RVs, we noticed there is almost always a bed above the cab/driver's seats. A cab over bed.

We want a bigger RV but we want it to be small outside for ease of use.

All the class B+ and C RVs have a "bedroom" area way in the back AND the cab over bed. This is an enormous waste of space in my eyes and adds a lot of feet to the length of the rig without added benefit.

Is there a layout in a class B+ or class C that is more efficient like a truck camper layout?

A cab over bed only and the rest of it a living, dining, kitchen and bathroom?

Seems to me this would keep the RV small outside and feeling huge inside.

Anyone aware of a layout like this?
  • Check this out. Oddly was looking at rentals with a co-worker and happened to see this. I'm sure there is a source to buy one.

A friend of mine has a 24’ C that is (was?) almost exactly the same floor plan as mine, with a rear clipped corner bed.

He removed the bed and turned that area into his ‘den’ instead.

When I asked if they would install a manual awning instead of the useless power type, the answer was NO.
  • Check Phoenix Cruiser in Elkhart, IN. They will custom build a B+ exactly as you want. Might also look at the newer small class A models Winnebago has some short mid 20 ft models. Sportmobile will build a van camper to your specs. Others out there I am sure.
