Dolly Towing an 2006 Toyota Avalon

Issue: I've made it to Nevada and for some reason, my dolly-towed '06 Toyota Avalon now decides it doesn't want to start and get off the dolly. What I've had to resort to is pushing it off by hand....then it'll start. It acts like the electronic key-fob isn't working.

Also, for some reason yesterday, the alarm kept going off as we were driving down the road....first time in over 1300 miles!

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Yeah, did all that. What I mean by "won't start" is the only thing that'll happen is the dash lights come on, the door beeps as usual, but nothing else.

What I've finally determined is that it just don't like having it's nose up in the air. Once I get it off the dolly, she starts just fine....but when she's 'nose high'...nuttin'.
  • When you say it doesn't start, does the engine crank over and not start, or is everything dead when you push the start button?
If it doesn't crank, does the little red key light on the dash flash when you're in the car with the key fob?
Have you tried placing the shifter into PARK while it's on the dolly or do you have it in NEUTRAL?
