We were Maryland residents when we bought an RV in Florida and had it titled and registered in Florida. We had a Florida address (mail service) to use for insurance and titling. We were Maryland residents when we purchased our towed in Maryland and had it titled and registered in Florida. Whether you can do that with Texas depends on whether or not Texas allows non-residents to title and register vehicles (Florida does). Check the Texas DMV website for more information. We did not pay Maryland sales tax - we paid Florida's.
