Dometic Toilet WARNING

This is for anyone who has a Dometic Toilet Model #300, 310 or 320 installed in your RV. Be very sure that you read and follow the winterizing instructions in your Dometic operations manual that you should have received with your RV.

If the water valve is not cleared of all water, as per the instructions in that manual, there is a very strong possibility that in freezing weather that valve will burst. I know this because I had both of mine to do just that. (2 toilets in my unit)

The valve is not difficult to replace but it does cost about $35.00 if ordered on line. The part # is 385311641

If you do not have that manual just go to YouTube, type in Dometic toilet and you will fine a number of videos on how to change out that valve.

I think you could say that about any water pipe or valve if it is not winterized properly. Like another poster said. Hit the flush pedal until the pink stuff comes through and let it run a bit. Easy.

Agree. And while hitting the flush pedal don't forget to run the pink stuff through the toilet bowl spay rinse hose if your RV is equipped with one.
  • Winterizing the toilet and ALL water lines and appliances is part of the process...
If you have one (them) it includes:
    • black tank sprayer
    • ice maker
    • outside shower
    • water filter
    • water pump
    • water heater
    • toilet
    • and.....___________
  • The subject it true of a great number of RV pots. It was a know issue when I worked at Thetford 40 years ago. Their only answer was to make it easy to replace.

  • I open the flush valve and run the pink stuff through. Seems to work so far.
