I agree to a point...many of you have pensions coming? I am 58/hubby 59 with no pension (mostly sad thing of the past) BUT we have planned well and lived frugally. We have also travelled fairly well even with
three kids (we went to Europe twice with them when they were younger).
So no we are semi retired and due to end that in a few years; we do art shows currently (this is not he money that built our kitty...lol!).
We are telling our kids (27, 27, 29) to live frugally, save for your retirement (one has pensions/state gov, one has fed gov thrift plan,and one has 401k) but enjoy yourself now in frugal mode.
If you can at all manage to retire early do it...it won't be regretted but make sure you have money to fund yourself later on.
