You're SOOOOO right! We've always had to travel as cheaply as possible, but we never let that keep us from hauling the kids all over this great country of ours.
We, too, had it driven home several years ago when very dear & much older friends died. They'd never traveled more than 200 miles from here, if that far. It wasn't until they were in a nursing home that they realized & expressed their regrets at never having done anything, even tho there was only the two of them, nothing to tie them down, and a modest but enough income to do it.
And no list needed. Just get out and do and see.
