My FIL worked hard all his life and retired in his 60's. DW and I bought a farm because he had always wanted a farm of his own. We bought the farm but he worked it day in and day out for a short time till he passed away from emphysema and other ailments. On his death bed he told DW that we had given him "a couple of years of heaven" by purchasing the farm and letting him run it. That was the only real "vacation" the man had his whole life. He and MIL never took ONE single vacation ever. The farthest they ever got from home was a 6 hour drive to Indianapolis to visit a relative. My Dad also took only ONE vacation in his life that I can remember and that was only a few days fishing with a friend. He worked his entire life and only quit when he had a heart attack that forced him to retire and he only lived a couple of months after the attack. Go now and spend what you can because you don't know if you'll be here tomorrow.
