Travel has always been a priority for me, even though I used to go CHEAP. Tent camping, or in a camper shell on the back of a '79 Nissan pickup, and an occasional fleabag motel occasionally for a real bed and shower. Over the course of 38 years I've been to all states except ND and NJ. I've also been to NB, ON, AB, BC, & YT, and on several Caribbean cruises. When I buy a home or vehicle it is not the deluxe model, but it is adequate. I've consistently saved, and now that I'm 60 and retired, DW & I have a pretty good nest-egg and had planned to spend at least several months a year traveling.
The year was off to a good start, with a 3 week winter vacation in Florida and a 2 week spring vacation in Missouri. Well, now we have 3 grandkids (5, 8, & 11) living with us full-time, possibly until they are grown. You just never know what life will throw at you, so you might as well be ready!
