Don't you just love it when:

Don't you just love it when you take your RV diesel pusher in for service to have the front brakes checked. Then at closing time you get a message from the service manager stating he would like me to come in at 8 am and show me some things! I need brake pads on both sides and a left front caliper replaced. Then he says he wants to show me what we are up against and show me some numbers. Geez. Is this guy upbeat, or what?

  • Don't sweat what they call things, they may just be trying to explain it in terms most (?) people understand. That, or you really do need pads and calipers because they're missing from your air brakes. :B
  • I sure hope so. The old service manager that I knew well retired so don't know the "new guy"!. I do most all the work myself and take it for the stuff I can't do because of needing a lift or special tools I don't have. Air over hydraulic brakes on my coach.
  • Sounds like a decent shop that wants to let you know what they're going to do before they do it. Some shops dig into the work first and then let you know about any issues after they get started.
  • I like it when a service manager wants to show me the issues with my TV and/or TT instead of just telling me over the phone.

What chassis? Memory serves that the Beavers have air brakes.

They have air activated disk brakes!

  • That Beaver must be a great old bus. Fix 'er up and motor on down the road.
