I see where you're going but it won't work; at least in Ca. CHP made some NHRA haulers drop their trailers because they were a few feet too long.
Other states will make you do the same. Yes some states will make you dump the trailer along the road.
I would fully expect that. It's the cost of the fines that are my biggest worry. Having double towed for several years without a hitch, (pun intended) right now I'm thinking I'll be checking into the fees involved. "Cost of doing business", doncha know...
