So far I do a few "fill and drain" cycles between camping trips. With pressure in the system the flow starts out quite fast so maybe that flushes the little bit that is there. I started doing the fill and drain when I first owned the camper because of the sulpher smell/taste that Atwood tanks suffer from. When I did that mod a few years ago there wasn't any crud in the tank that I noticed.

I have a hard enough time getting the scale out thru the OEM 1/2 drain hole.

I did the same mod, I saw it on this site.

This works for me.

Seeing as I have a hose to use to flush water heater I just rinse off side of rig when done with WH and then dry it off.

It's just water.

If it is good enough to be in the coach plumbing, it's good enough to trickle down the side of the coach for a couple minutes. Then a gentle application of a microfiber towel should clear up the HUGE, ENORMOUS MESS this dribbled water has caused to your cherry coach.

I cut the end of a 1 gal jug and used that to deflect the water away from the side of the rig. Basically, making a funnel out of the top to fit over the drain plug. I get some on the side but easy to clean off when done and doesn't stain the sides.

There seemed to be a bunch of gunk in the bottom of my hat water heater, and some was gritty, so I did not want it on rig. Also, the way the Aspect is laid out, it ran directly onto a storage bay door. Seemed like a set up for some leakage into the bay.

I have a flex hose like you hook up a water faucet with, added a nipple going from the hose to the water tank, attached a ball valve to the other end. All I do is open the ball valve and lift the pressure relief handle.
