Maybe I'm missing something but normaly the bars are trying to rotate up and away from the ball mount. The wear on the spring bars shows that. But the wear on the ball mount is like the bars rotated down and towards the ball mount but the bars don't show that kind of wear marks?
I have the same hitch and will have to look at my ball mount as my bars look just like yours.
