Well I went on my first trip with the drive shaft disconnect on my 4Runner. What a horrific experience that was!! The first issue was with the brakes. (I have a brake buddy system). When we disconnect the truck and started to drive it the squeak in the breaks was awful. I was in a location with no cell service and limited services for vehicle assistance. I was able to locate a mechanic and he took care of that issue. 2 days later I was driving up a dirt road and all the sudden RPM's went up, but truck wasn't moving! I had to be towed back to campground and when I went under the truck the disconnect system was literally dangling. Nuts were missing and some of them had unscrewed half way down the screw! We ended up having it towed down the mountain a way to a service station that ended up taking the shaft out so we could it home! Now what... I am not sure I can trust this system or the installer to make this a viable option to tow the 4Runner :( Any suggestions would be welcomed.
