Driveable vs towable for x country trip
We are trying to weigh the pros and cons of the different types of rv for a 2 or 3 month cross country tour. We currently have a class a but have also owned a c and stayed in a 5th wheel on occasion....

Best one is whatever you have especially if it is paid for.
9 years, every state at least once, Alaska 3 times, most Canadian provinces, over 100,000 trailer miles, over 150,000 truck miles & we are still perfectly happy with what we have.
The class A people spend as much time messing with the toad hitch as we do the 5er. The DW is not going to unbelt herself & go make a sandwich at 60mph & nobody is going to the bathroom at that speed so that one does not wash.
Our first RV trip was a class C rental. Did not like all of the noise from rattling dishes etc. at all. With a towable all the noise that happens in the towable stays in the towable. We pack a snackbox with drinks to get us from one stop to the next.
What we have is really too big for short trips but almost every trip we do is over 2 months. If we were normally weekend warriors doing the occasional long trip we would have something better suited for short trips & put up with it during the occasional long trip.
