Why not in the USA? We have lots and lots of long 18 wheelers and long MH's towing vehicles and vehicles towing long trailers and double tows RV's every hour on our roads which is so unlike the case in Europe or England and nearly every other country. Been there, done that and seen the huge difference personally. Remember that even though Australia has some big trucks on some of their roads that while Australia is about the same size as the USA which has 320 million population, they have only 22.7 million population so it's less than 1/14th the drivers/vehicles.
Long OTR trucks like in the USA are so very rare in Europe and England and nearly every other country as are vehicles pulling long trailers or big MH's towing vehicles. We'd noticed several times that you could watch for hours before even seeing one up to 22' long RV going by in both England and Europe on their highways. Be very lucky to not see 30-40 larger over 30' RV's being towed with the longer than Europe length tow vehicles going by each hour on most USA highways nearly year around.
Other countries drivers also are like they are in lockstep with each other on roads and roudabouts with their same size small vehicles which is very different than the case in the USA. Not smart you try to force a big RV rig or long 18 wheeler over as a car will lose every time! Like squish!
Roundabouts have very mixed results in the USA and are generally not liked at all by the drivers no matter what the few supporters of roundabouts claim. Many have been constructed as an experiment and so many of those have been removed now in the USA as they had increased accidents with them.
