Roundabouts replace T intersections. They are safer. When that intersection becomes too big you go to Traffic Lights.Roundabouts or T intersections are not the favourite of people using Big Rigs or large RV's that is why Freeways are used. A Roundabout or Traffic Circle is most effective when the intersection is small and traffic is relatively light.
