I spent a few months in England in 1976 and my hotel was about a mile from the Hemel Hempstead "Magic" roundabout.
It is one big roundabout with six little roundabouts inside of it; traffic moves in both directions.
The first of it's kind, built in 1975, it terrified the natives who were used to unidirectional roundabouts at almost every major intersection in the country.
