Road rage has become quite the problem. People get shot for it, ran off the road, etc... Not saying that it is ok or right to do that, however it happens. Being in the right, yet being dead doesn't really help...
There will always be speeders. Even in London with cameras everywhere... You are not going to stop it by appointing yourself as a private citizen highway police...
A person habitually riding in the left lanes directly and indirectly causes problems as you don't or can't know the reason that someone is in a hurry... They cause accidents because they basically force people to take chances to get around them... Self-centered, selfish people? Perhaps...
I have a friend that intentionally gets in the left lane and goes the exact speed limit because he says that he pays taxes and has a right to. I told him to look in the mirror. A long string of cars behind and open road in front... I won't ride with him anymore... Sorry, however I can't agree with that line of reasoning...
IMHO, the most dangerous place to be is beside someone as you have no warning or reaction time if they leave their lane...
I pass and get over. If someone is coming up behind me at a fast rate, "I" get out of "their" way. You never know what or why they are doing it. Why be a buttho!e, let them go...
Left lane zombie will get on the interstate, head straight to left lane and stay there, never looking behind. I have seen many make a quick dart over when they are about to miss their exit...
I know many people that believe they are a safe driver because they drive the speed limit. Many of them will quickly pull out in front of traffic and then gradually speed up causing everyone behind to hit the brakes.
There is more to being a safe driver that merely going the speed limit... Of course there is a certain type of person that can't understand that...
Driving is a privilege, not a right. Be courteous. Causing others problems without reason, doesn't make you a good person nor a good driver...
