I've found that speed limits vary wildly throughout the country. I was surprised on my first trip through Texas to find a 70 mph limit on a 2 lane undivided state highway that would be 35 in New York. Are Texas drivers twice as good? Probably not.

The left lane problem seems to be most prevalent in populated areas where the rule to live by is protect your little piece of the world.
