Just to be different, hear in Oz you are soposed to keep left, but many don’t. Years ago they tried to in force the law with fines introduced but it was soon canceled to my great regret. In Germany it is illegal to overtake in the right lane (closest to curb)

In Germany everyone moves over or guns it to pass so they don’t hang out in the left lane. I was going 180-200kph and getting passed like I was standing still. My rental had a sticker stating the tires were rated for 230kph. When I got back from Germany it was a stark contrast where people just seem to live self-centered and don’t care that they are making others slow down. Not only is it discourteous it also wastes others’ gas slowing down then speeding up. Of course the discourteous jerk will complain that they can just go as fast as them, which is usually a few miles over anyways. Followed a lady going 10 miles over and she noticed I wanted around her, she pointed to the speed limit like it was supposed to say something. All while she could have moved over and we both could have gone on our merry way. Too many people want conflict on the roads. I call it the manufactured victim syndrome.
