Both are good hitches and both have a big following. When I bought my new trailer I chose the Equalizer over the DC because I could quickly install the L bracket plates in the dealers parking lot, hitch up and drive my new trailer home. No need to drill any holes in the A-Frame which would not have been practical in my situation.
I did my homework ahead of time, measuring the coupler height of the new trailer, etc, so I could get the Equalizer "close enough" to drive the trailer home, then once home I dialed it in perfectly. I've towed about 600 miles so far with the Equalizer and it works as advertised.
