I've noted repeated issues when new tires are put on tow vehicles - and repeatedly, the issues resolve themselves over time. In some cases the replacement tires are identical to what came off - other than the fact that they were manufactured at a different time and the new ones are ....ah.... Mmmmm..... "new".
I wonder if the problem resolves itself because the driver gets used to the new feel - OR - perhaps the tire actually changes. It's possible that the mold release compounds on the surface of the tire are what is causing this. After all, it takes a while for those to wear off.
As an example, I watched a video of a Formula 1 car leave the pits with stickered tires and it took a quarter lap to wear those stickers off. I would think that getting rid of a mold release compound on a street tire might take several hundred miles.
