We just bought a new used motorhome. No manuals. It's a 2001 holiday rambler imperial. My question is; do we dump the air before putting the levelers down?
We had a 2003 holiday rambler imperial with a four point system. When we pulled into a site the first thing we would do is dump the air. In our case I would toggle the switch several time to dump it faster. Than I would hit the auto level after it was level I would put out the slides.
Also, "IF" you have the three point leveling system used by Holiday Rambler/Monaco and "IF" you have slide outs, you must extend the slides before dumping the air and leveling. When breaking camp you start the engine and air up the system to ride height before retracting the slides. Someone will probably chime in and say that makes no sense, but that is the recommended leveling procedure for Monaco/HR.
Yes, by doing so, it lowers the coach closer to the ground so that the levelers have less distance to go to level the coach. The less leveler, the more stable the coach.
