If I may be a germophobe for a minute...I'm thinking that no plug and a wet surface and 70 MPH wind swirls and road grime and some gunk is getting up inside of the drain tube to contaminate your next load of water.
Maybe a little over the top on my part, but what would you think if I rubbed my fingers on your drive way and then stirred them in the freshwater tank...
