I was wondering if there was a proper way to dump the fresh water left in the tank before leaving a campsite. I usually drain on site, but the father in law says not to do that. And he usually takes ...

There are many laws regardind dumping black water, Gray water and Wash water (Wash water is gray without the kitchen sink, no food particales)
Not a single law that I know of prohibiting dumping fresh water (Does not mean they do not exist, just means I've never seen one).
Of course, I almost never dump fresh water.. Unless I'm sanitizing the system.
Then I dump basically where I fill, Since it's fresh water I do not worry about it.
