I leave the water in the tank, in case I need it on the way home. Then I dump it at home into my yard, helps to water the lawn.
Question: How would you like to be traveling behind an RV with a liquid draining out, in your clean and waxed vehicle, only to get water sprayed on your car?
Drain it at home.
I would feel terrible if that happened. You don't want to get water on a freshly waxed car. I guess bug splatter and bird droppings are ok though.
If I am going to a car show or returning, I don't want any liquid that I do not know what it is on my car. Unless you want to assume liability, then dump your tank when you get home. As to rain on the highway, if it looks like rain I do not drive. As to bugs we are not discussing bugs on the highway but unknown liquids from RV's, and some dumping gray water and even black water is not unheard of by some inconsiderate slobs where they are not supposed to dump. Must be the same people that dump at a dumping station and do not use a hose, just open they valve. Even some with blue/gray tanks.
My paint job is more important to me than you dumping any liquid driving down the highway. But I guess Slobs don't understand common courtesy.
