EBike battery charging?

I have an Electric bike with a Samsung 36 V, 14.25 Ah battery.Came with 110V charger. Off grid I'm looking to charge from 12V source through inverter. Would a portable 400 Watt inverter plugged into cigarette lighter in truck be adequate?. Does this influence charging time? Evetually I hope to have enough solar in my TC to run larger inverter. ?good discussion anywhere on line?
Thanks
  • What's the ratings label say on the 110 charger? How many watts or amps input?

I wouldn't connect a 400 watt rated inverter through a ciggy lighter connection, you'll likely blow a fuse or melt something well before you reach 400 watts on the output (400 watts AC = 40 amps DC roughly)

It should work, but I would connect the inverter directly to your truck battery, using no less than 10 gauge cable, and keep the DC cable short, use an AC extension cord if you need more distance.

Adequate? Maybe, but I can't say for sure without knowing the wattage output of the charger. Also, if you use a cheap 'auto parts store' inverter, that charging brick is likely to overheat.

YOu do need to check the ratings on they charger

Also Most inverters in the 400 range are MSW.. (Some exceptions) the charger may or may not like MSW.. you need to be aware of that.. TSW inverters it will love.

I think the mods missed this. And OP doesn't seem to be responding.
