I really doubt many of us will live long enough for the electric cars to be the norm. UNLESS they do become cheaper and more practical. I had a Volt, it was fun, it was fast, it got charged at a free spot at the casino we go to. Yes I worked it into our world with little problem. Long drives took the truck.
We will see many new cars in 2021 that are electric and will fit the mold BUT they will be to costly at 42,000 for a base model most will not be able to afford them. I for one (being retired) will get one although I really hate SUVs. They are like soccer vans of yesterday everyone has one.
As a car, I like the volt. I drove one as a rental. But for my long trip I could gas it up when it ran out of battery power. You could drive a volt cross country AND use it for emission free local trips. Love that idea.
I thought the Volt was a good idea too but GM discontinued it
Meh. Nice car but hybrids in general are losing market. They still have all the quarks of a gasser. Oil changes, filters, exhaust system, hoses, plugs, wires, brakes etc. 4 years of driving two EV’s and we are on our 4th jug of washer fluid. Wiper blades coming up soon though. :)
