BEV vehicles cost an estimated 7-8k more than an ICE driven vehicle. That's to move 4,000 lbs of vehicle a hundred miles. Go to 300 miles, and that battery cost goes up a lot.
How much do you think the battery cost would be for a 6,000+ lb truck pulling a trailer. Any idea how much those batteries will weigh, and what that might do to payload?
Most mainstrean EV’s have ranges north of 220 miles.
that's about a half-day's drive for us in the Jeep. best real-world recharge time for the next 200-miles? likelihood of finding a charging station along the way?
20 to 30 minute lunch break for charging in a Tesla. Depends where you live for charging stations. West coast in a Tesla no problem.
If you live and travel in places without charging infrastructure buy a gas car. If you don’t have time to eat, buy a gasser. If you don’t have time to stop for a pee break wear a diaper and buy a gasser. :)
Travelling in an EV is different than a gasser. But a 400 mile trip wouldn’t take any longer in an medium or long range EV than our old grand Cherokee. Just a lot nicer ride. :)
