Video has been around...
I understand the rental trucks; People moving in a truck they have no business driving, no clue to think about clearance issues.
I am confused by the company trucks and the RVers; They should know their height.
That bridge is very, very well marked. Yet, people slam into it like they think it is higher (or they are shorter).
I have always wondered if there was a sign out of view, that gave the driver a false sense of hope....how can so many people not have a clue how tall they are, and why are they ALL on that road.
AND YES....I have scraped a bridge.
I knew my tractor-trailer was 13' 6", but one day the boss asked me to take the straight truck on a local trip. I knew there was a 12' 6" clearance on that road, so I asked: "How tall is the straight truck?" He said it was 12' 5".
I didn't get stuck....cause it just scraped the "bow" of the roof on the way out from under the bridge---as the road came up.
Told the boss that truck is atleast 12' 7", and he might want to check for leaks.
