I stay away from racing engine oils...they are not meant to be kept in there
for thousands of miles...none to little additive package for extended periods
I switched out my OEM fan clutch to a severe duty, which pulls more than most
OEM clutches of my era truck
Also installed a lower temp stat & drilled a 1/32" dia hole in the flange...in
addition to one already there (about 1/64" dia hole)
Will rebuild my ICE & AutoTranny soon and will finally put in the larger
external ATF powered cooler (automotive main radiator fan with several stacked
plate aux coolers). That will be in series with the OEM run 'to' the main
radiator...where it will then have cooler ATF to remove BTU's from the main
coolant and the coolant to heat the ATF during cold climates
Just 'watching' the dash gauges and/or after market gauges (even scan gauges)
is just that...with a maybe slow down and/or reduce throttle, but I like to
be pro-active in all of these things...as I keep my vehicle for looooong time and
want them to hold up to my abusive driving...
