2 things:

1. Given how many posts I've read on here from people who have had both who claim they are both "about" the same (maybe 1 was better than the other but not by much) I would wonder if you had your Equalizer set up correctly if you claim that one "easily" out performs the other. Your opinion and you're entitled to it, and I'm not even saying you're wrong...but your take flies in the face of numerous posts I've read here through the years that didn't agree.

2. What evidence do you have to back up your 2nd statement? Especially since you eliminated your Equalizer and no longer have it. I've been towing with an Equalizer for 8 years now and wear has never been an issue. Nor has "road scum" or any other "contamination".

Yes, my Eq was set up perfectly (been doing this a long time) and served us well over the years. It did not have the active component that the DC has though and that makes it work better IMO. The DC pushes the trailer back in line where as the EQ uses friction to keep movement down. Both work OK but the DC system is a step up and one can feel the difference.

2. The friction material gets wet and dirty back there. This makes it grabby and noisy. Perhaps yours has never done this but it has indeed been our experience. Both the bar and the brake material wore down in the 12 or so years we used ours on two different TT's. This effected operation and noise. I could turn the wheel back and forth and watch the TT's motion. If finally got bad enough that I moved to the DC which was so higly regarded here. The same sway test showed a remarkable difference - better than the old hitch ever did.
I don't have any way to "prove" anything to you and don't care enough to do so even if I could. It just isn't that important.

It seems like your one of those people that takes it as a personal insult if someone doesn't like something you've bought.
We've all bought things that we're eventually outdated by modern technology. In the case of the DC, I suspect there are even better systems out there now, like those that heavy springs built in the ends of the bars (forget the name).

What equalizer are you referring to? My Equal-i-Zer brand 4 point system does not have any brake material or sliding bar. Are you referring to a hitch with the separate anti-sway bar with the sliding rod?
