Europe, this is different. However, in the US, the Dodge ProMaster is front wheel drive. The Ford Transit is rear wheel drive. No 4x4 configurations.
Supposedly, Mercedes has mentioned bringing 4x4 Sprinter configurations to this side of the pond, but this has been rumored for years. I'll believe it when May comes around and the local Mercedes and Freightliner Sprinters have it on the order sheet.
I've mentioned this in other places, but the Transit has a lot of promise as being close to the ideal "B" van. It can't go as long as a Sprinter with its 24 feet, but a high roof, 22 foot van has a lot of possibilities.
Of course, Winnebago has a ProMaster upfit "B". It is quirky, but if you are single, it can be a nice vehicle, especially for the price.
