The tire dealers won't patch the tire for several very good reasons. First of all since it's a radial tire the sidewalls are thinner than a bias ply tire. This allows them to flex when going over bumps and turning. Since they are in a constant state of flex the patch would peel of quickly.
Secondly because the sidewalls are thinner and they do constantly flex the hole is likely to get bigger or possibly blow out.
No professional is going to take a chance that the tire might have catastrophic air loss or explode after a repair has been made. It's an invitation for a lawsuit.
You might be able to put a tube in it and use it as an emergency spare. I wouldn't use it as a daily driver. Again since the sidewall continually flexes it's likely that over time the tire will pinch the tube and cause it to loose air.
It maybe disappointing but the best solution is to buy another tire.
