Extend Propane For A Grill...But How Far ?

Hello Everyone.

I am going to add a "T" before the RV regulators so that I can add a hose for a grill. Don't see where hoses are sold longer than 12 feet, but would like to add about 20 feet total...If I can Find one.

Can a 20 foot hose be added without damaging anything if I can Find it? I read somewhere that anything beyond 12 feet could allow to much moisture and damage the regulator??

Any help would be appreciated....

Thanks Ponder
  • I have a grill that ties into the current gas system. The hose was quite short from the factory with non-standard fittings....so I went to a welding supply store and had a hose built to my specs for a whole $27, using my current fittings.

  • Mine would not be in use all the time either.....just when grilling..

Very nice ideas......Thank you all very much.......Ponder
  • I carry extra hoses and have used as many as three 12 footers hooked together. No problems for me, either.

    Per finding a longer hose:

Might be worth asking at your local RV place- mine will custom build any length you want. They don't even charge for "labor"- just parts. I actually prefer the versatility of several shorter lengths, though.
  • I have hoses and a manifold that total 40' in length. Never had any issues when I use it. Mind you it's not in permanent use.
  • Thanks ronfisherman .... Best advice usually comes from hands on Experience....
